1408

The Senate Visual Effects contributed over 70 visual effects to the latest Stephen King horror to hit the big screen, 1408.

John Cusak plays supernatural journalist Enslin. Determined to debunk the myth that hotel room 1408 is haunted, Enslin checks in for a short stay. Things are not as he expected.

Many of the films most interesting sequences are The Senate’s work. We crafted an entirely CG office for hotel manager Mr Olin (Samuel L Jackson) and created Enslin’s doppelganger in the facing hotel window. When former occupants reappear, the Senate took actors shot against blue and turned them into stylised ghosts such as ‘black and white man’ and ‘technicolor woman’. Other work on the feature included blue screen composites, CG aircraft, 3D hotel extensions and camera animations.
